History of Brentwood The Borough of Brentwood was originally part of Baldwin Township and included the villages of Brentwood, Point View and Whitehall and was, at that time, one of the most densely populated parts of the township. Its 880 acres covered approximately one-tenth of the Township and was known as Precinct Number 2. It now contains 929.9 acres, or 1.4517 sq. miles. This increase was due to a change of boundaries in the Brentwood Villa Plan of Lots, Willett Kingsley Avenue area. In 1929, 60 % of the residents of this Brentwood Villa Plan petitioned Brentwood Borough Council to annex this section and this was subsequently done. Brentwood Borough was incorporated by a Decree of the Quarter Sessions Court of Allegheny County handed down November 6, 1915, to take effect the first Monday of January, 1916. 4th
of July Parade It is with pride that the 4th of July Parade has been part of the great tradition of our Borough. Through the efforts of a group of volunteers who serve on the 4th of July Committee and the Brentwood Volunteer Fire Department, we plan to continue this tradition. Brentwood
Firecracker 5-K Race Our Borough enjoys a fine reputation for having the third largest (1,500 runners) race in Western Pennsylvania. The Race starts at 9:30 A.M., 30 minutes before our gala Parade. |
